We currently have an opening for a Project Manager III at our Houston, TX location.

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for order commitment, the scheduling of sales order s, on-time delivery, inventory impact and cash flow performance. Responsible for projects ranging from $5 MM to $1000 MM in sales and up to $70 MM in procured goods.

Main Tasks

• Receives objectives and guidelines for projects.
• Receives guidance on special / complex features.
• Regularly develops solutions to non-recurring problems by independently analyzing, interpreting & evaluating various precedents and data.
• Regularly functions a significant contributor to solving complex problems.
• Leads, coordinates and communicates product delivery and cost requirements to the key support functions to meet scheduled shipments in a quality and cost effective manner.
• Acts as the primary communication contact (internal and external) for the applicable product group within the project team.
• Consolidates and analyzes information from Project Engineering, Sourcing and the Manufacturing Team Leaders to develop the overall project plan in order to proactively identify issues and resolve them to maintain product delivery in a timely manner.
• Makes decisions regarding sourcing of components based on customer needs. Solutions providing the most flexibility are required due to changes in customer requirements.
• Conducts and/or participates in Schedule Reviews within FMC and with main suppliers as appropriate to ensure that schedule requirements are being met within the required and specified quality parameters.
• Works directly with Product Scheduling Analysts to ensure accurate scheduling data.
• Prepares reports for the Project Supervisor/ Manager including Client Reports such as summary schedule updates, status of deliverables, and potential cost/schedule variance caused by client scope changes.
• Analyzes the project schedule, monitors progress and highlights potential cost/schedule variances.
• Recommends Corrective Action Plans for Project Management approval.
• Analyzes the project budgets, monitors progress and highlights potential cost variances.
• Independently provides options to correct negative variances.
• Trains, coaches, mentors and reviews the work of less experienced project personnel as assigned.
Assists with the development of Engineering and Project Management Resource Plans.

Requirements

• BA or BS in business administration, procurement, finance, operations, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Must have excellent understanding of Project Management process and full understanding of business processes and systems.
• Experience in demonstrated project t management of mechanical products required. Experience using SAP to perform planning and Primavera for scheduling is highly desired.
• Thorough knowledge of organizational structure and inter-relationships between functions.
• Understanding of finance, contract language (legal, commercial and practical requirements), sub-contractors and other FMC plants.
• At least four to six years of demonstrated project management of executing build of mechanical products or systems along with six to eight years of experience in marketing, scheduling, materials, engineering, projects or financial analysis within the context of a project management process.
• Technical, engineering or financial experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate ability to independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective overall project schedules and budgets.
• Must demonstrate good persuasive, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment.
• Must demonstrate effective report writing and presentation skills and strong organization skills and project planning ability.
• Solid understanding of internal and external economic factors such a s costs, margins, and profit impact of decisions affecting the product line’s business.
• PC skills with proficiency in scheduling, spreadsheet, word processing, relational database, project management software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
