COMPANY OVERVIEW:
FMC Technologies designs, manufactures and services technologically sophisticated systems and products such as subsea production and processing systems, surface wellhead systems, high pressure fluid control equipment, measurement solutions, and marine loading systems for the oil and gas industry.
Subsea Technologies business segment encompasses a wide range of equipment and technologies that are required to explore, drill and develop offshore oil and gas fields. We have a strong global presence in all of the world’s major basins. Whether it is high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) trees and wellheads, subsea controls and systems or production optimization services, we add value to our customers throughout the life of the field.
Subsea Services business unit provides subsea system service packages that provide strategic solutions to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability while minimizing the total life cost of the subsea systems and service needs. These services support all phases of the asset’s life cycle, from the early planning stages through testing and installation, commissioning and operations, replacement and upgrades, interventions and decommissioning/abandonment on through maintenance, storage and preservations.

We currently have an opening for a Well Service Engineer at our Houston, TX location.
PURPOSE:
Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of the position.
As a subject matter expert, provide guidance to WR Subsea Services management in all aspects related to well services business initiatives - building the organization, sorting customer leads and shaping best products/operations for own investments, sales and tendering, liaise with ER WIS operations.

The intention is to seed an organization unit of highly skilled business minded engineers to deal with these issues as the heart of a well services initiative (well intervention – riser based or riser less, plugging & abandonment, workover, IWOCS, and Subsea Tooling)

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
What are the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position (i.e. educational requirements, licenses, certification, work experience, training, etc.)

Graduate or Master in relevant Engineering discipline.
8 years + experience from projects-, technology- and service based business related to well operations/services.
Proven extensive commercial abilities in the subsea business.
Proven extensive operational abilities in subsea operations.
Proven extensive experience and capabilities in problem solving.
Proven extensive knowledge of the subsea industry.
Strong understanding of key industry customers, suppliers, competitors, products, and technologies.
Proven extensive understanding of international operations, culture, and requirements

75% of time in a temperature-controlled environment (office, airport, and airplane). Spends 5 - 15% of time outside of the office (field environment, supplier facility, overseas base, or customer office) and may be exposed to possible hazards including high noise, heavy machinery and inclement weather when active at field locations. Travels 5 - 10% of time, including international travel as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Describe amount & frequency of physical requirements of the position (i.e. lifting, pushing, climbing)

Frequent sitting and operating a computer or participating in meetings. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change. Gives frequent presentations which may require lengthy periods of standing.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Identify the major duties and tasks accomplished by this position. For each duty, identify if it is an E - essential function or N - nonessential function of the job.
E/N     Duties and Responsibilities
E     Build and lead a technical team responsible to support Western Region Subsea Services commercial strategy, studies, tenders and proposals in the field of well services.

E     Lead the way of technical content for healthy investments into well services, - with particular focus on service strategy, investment cost, uptime, operability and maintenance cost.

E     Authority to act on behalf of Sales and Business Development Manager on technical matters

E     Interface with Legal, Account Managers, Portfolio Commercial Managers, Product Managers, Project Management, and Aftermarket counterparts to develop and communicate operations, technology, strategy, roles/responsibilities and status.

E     Frequent presentation of information to medium/upper level management/corporate during technical/cost/price reviews for approval in tenders or investments.

E     Regular communication with Subsea Services counterparts in other regions to align strategies, processes, personnel development, and partnerships.

E     Responsible for technical coordination of the service- and core product strategy within the group.

E     Ensure alignment of development activities within Subsea Services with the Global Core Products and Product Line Strategy.
