Title: Director, MI Marketing

Location: Radnor, PA

This is an advanced-level individual contributor position which works under limited supervision and is responsible for contributing to all marketing initiatives that position Essent’s MI operations, products, programs, and brands in relevant and engaging ways.  This individual is tasked with assuming primary ownership of and evolving all marketing and processes, developing, and executing marketing strategies appropriate for MI customer targets, managing current and new vendor/agency relationships, and reviewing key marketing metrics to make recommendations for improved effectiveness.  This role is designed to be the primary face of MI marketing across the company and responsible for managing MI marketing projects and assets, including the existing library of marketing communication resources as well as future content direction for the MI channel.

As a dynamic and resourceful professional, we will rely on you to perform the following duties:
  • Assume day to day ownership of core marketing processes and infrastructure to support MI operations leveraging marketing SME peers across digital, analytics, marketing communications and training (ex., technology, agency relationships, communication channels, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain key relationships across internal constituents namely Business Development leadership, Operations, Risk, HR, Compliance, IT, etc..
  • Develop strategic recommendations for updates, revisions and enhancements to all MI marketing related strategy based on competitive activity, market conditions, business updates and technology enhancements.
  • Manage the development and execution of digital marketing awareness and conversion strategies that support growth with all customer segments in alignment with the sales team and in close collaboration with digital marketing.
  • Understand behaviors and trends of key customer segments and garner insights that are actionable.  Partner with Sales and Operations to develop an approach to communicate with customer segments in a more meaningful way.
  • Proactively ideate, propose and partner with marketing peers content marketing opportunities across all channels (social media governance framework, marketing collateral, video, web, market research/customer surveying opportunities and sales enablement.
  • Present MI marketing strategy recommendations as well as Marketing Reporting Package within quarterly MBR meetings to executive management in coordination with Vice President, Marketing
  • Work closely with marketing analytics departmental resources to develop a dashboard of key metrics. Standardize for inclusion into Marketing Reporting Package weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or yearly reporting to meaningfully interpret marketing engagement results and implications aligned to industry benchmarks.
  • Quarterly travel within the field accompanying account managers/rvps on customer calls and/or regional meetings
  • Bi-annual participation in both the annual Essent conference as well as the midyear meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Business required.
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in Marketing and Communications with hands-on marketing project management experience and workflow.
  • Broad understanding of digital marketing principles.
  • Familiarity with CMS and email marketing platforms as well as familiarity with marketing capabilities of CRM platforms (SugarCRM).
  • Relevant experience in mortgage, real estate, title, or financial services institutions a plus.
  • Highly skilled communicator.
  • Demonstrated track record of setting and achieving aggressive marketing goals.
  • Financial services, mortgage lending or title experience a plus.
  • Authority on up-to-date marketing best practices.
  • Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and hands-on experience in digital and direct data-driven marketing execution, project management, q/c, testing, measurement, reporting and ongoing management in an online and/or direct marketing environment.
  • Fluent and up to date in online and direct marketing best practices; Able to judge creative work and direct adjustments for the most impactful and effective output.
  • Proven foundation of marketing best practices and broad understanding of digital marketing principles.
  • Credible consultant, advisor, leader, facilitator, and implementer of online and direct marketing strategies. and initiatives to internal clients and stakeholders, clients, prospects, and key influencers.
  • Solid technical understanding of the latest tools, capabilities, and trends for marketing communications.
  • Proficient and up to date in digital marketing analytics and analysis.
  • Experience with best practices in marketing campaign strategy and execution, demonstrated subject matter expertise in marketing and sales automation software, delivery strategies, and measurement.
  • A demonstrated track record of setting and achieving aggressive marketing goals.
  • Results-driven with exceptional detail and knowledge around metrics, specifically A/B testing.
  • Ability to work on a wide range of project types, from strategy, to process and metrics definition, to hands-on campaign management.
  • Solid grasp of content marketing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
