Description

We are currently taking applications/resumes for an EXPERIENCED Equipment Operators for the Lafayette, LA  & surrounding area.  Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following: 

  • Job Scope:
    • Heavy equipment operators control specialized machines used in construction, maintenance and operations. They may run extended boom forklifts and skid steers that will unstack/stack and move road mats into paid and laid onto the job site.
  • Duration of Job: Temp to Hire
    • Based on Job Performance
  • Position Requirements:
    • MUST HAVE VALID LICENSE
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.​​​​​
    • MUST be able to pass physical
    • MUST be able to pass DISA drug screen
    • MUST be able to pass background check
    • MUST be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, & gloves)
    • MUST have reliable transportation
  • Required Skills:
    • MUST have experience with operating an EXTENDED BOOM FORKLIFTS &  SKID STEER (1 year minimum preferred)
    • Knowledge of reading blueprints can be helpful​​​​
    • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
    • Good verbal and written communication
    • Ability to use good judgement and act independently
  • Job Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Operate equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
    • Maneuvering motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials.
    • Loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment.
    • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
    • Inspection of the machinery before and after to ensure that it is in good working condition. If upon inspection, some defects or issues are found, the operator will report them so that they can be addressed appropriately.
      • Perform daily checks on equipment
      • Rendering regular repairs and maintenance as needed.
      • Reporting more serious defects for repair by an authorized service provider.
    • Mange housekeeping activities when requested.
      • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
      • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
      • Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
    • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
    • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
      • Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
      • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
      • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
      • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
    • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
    • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
    • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
    • Excellent physical strength & stamina
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
      • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
      • Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
      • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
  • Documents Required:
    • Driver's License/Identification Card
    • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen.
  • Must be able to provide own PPE (hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, gloves)
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Pay:
    • Starting Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 (Based on experience)
    • Weekly Pay
    • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
  • Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)
      • 10-12 Hour Days (with weather permitting)
