We are seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer to lead our client’s network team. You will also be comfortable completing tasks and duties while supporting other members on the team.
As the Network Engineer you will participate in full life cycle management of data center networks including LAN, WLAN, WAN, network security and associated technologies. You will also design, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network systems, lead network projects and discussions around new technologies, present network reports and solutions to management as well as train and support team members. As part of this process, then you will create proper documentation diagrams and other detailed design, operational, and procedural instructions.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Manage, support and troubleshoot complex network topologies and systems, i.e. routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, load balancing, etc.
Participate in network infrastructure design and implementation projects
Research and recommend upgrades and optimizations of deployed technologies
Coordinate development of overall project plans and timetables
Conduct packet capture analysis and troubleshooting
Develop reports and presentations on infrastructure products and new technology for all levels of management and technical staff
Provide technical support and training to the team and other stakeholders
Work across infrastructure and development teams to foster trust and strong working relationships
View projects holistically and values individual contributions as efforts by a team of equal peers
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays as required to provide support and maintenance for systems, and to ensure 24/7 support and troubleshooting as well as work on-call as needed
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related discipline
9+ years’ experience as a system or network administrator
2+ years’ experience in the network engineering role
Experience with system administration, operational details of multiple operating systems, core internet protocols, i.e. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP
Available to work “on-call” is required
High level of curiosity and ease in working in a business environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proactive and resourceful. Self-motivated.
