Position Summary: This is a highly professional position that serves as the point of contact and liaison of the State Opioid Response (SOR) Treatment Program for families in the child welfare system affected by opioid substance abuse. The SOR Specialist provides outreach to families and interfaces with multiple stakeholders in the Brevard System of Care to coordinate, refer, and link families to appropriate substance abuse treatment services. The SOR Specialist also monitors progress of families served and manages Family Treatment Court. This position is accountable for data management, adherence to model deliverables, outcomes, and maintenance.

Technical/Functional Expectations:

  1. Monitors Progress SOR Treatment Program: The SOR Specialist monitors progress of families served and is accountable for data management, adherence to model deliverables, outcomes, and maintenance of the SOR Treatment Program. This position also serves as the point of contact and liaison for families in the child welfare system affected by opioid substance abuse.
  2. Coordination of Substance Abuse Treatment: The SOR Specialist provides outreach to families and interfaces with multiple stakeholders in the Brevard System of Care to coordinate, refer, and link families to appropriate substance abuse treatment services.
  3. Collaboration with Treatment Team: This position coordinates multidisciplinary staffings to support positive family development, coordinate treatment planning, and to collaborate with treatment teams.
  4. Facilitates Family Team Conferences: This position facilitates family team conferences using the wraparound principles of family voice and choice, team based, natural supports, collaboration, community based, culturally competent, individualized, and strength based.
  5. Manages Family Treatment Court: This position interfaces with the Dependency Court Judge and Court Specialist in managing Family Treatment Court.
  6. On Call Rotation: This position participates in on call rotation.
  7. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Business Experience:

  1. Strength Based Family Centered Practice Orientation: This is essential in order to effectively support the System of Care and its values.
  2. Two years Clinical Services Management: This is required in order to effectively evaluate clinical services options and manage a continuum of services.
  3. Strong Interpersonal, Presentation, and Organization skills: This is required in order to effectively partner with various stakeholders and agency staff and adequately train community stakeholders.
  4. Valid Driver's License - Essential: This is required in order to travel throughout the county and other locations.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree of Social Work required.
  2. LCSW, LMHC, LMFT preferred.
  3. 1 to 2 years related experience required.
  4. 2 to 5 years related experience preferred.
