Indiana Nephrology & Internal Medicine, P.C. is currently seeking an experienced EOB Review Analyst/Patient Accountant.  The EOB Review Analyst/Patient Accountant under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for posting all outstanding claims in an accurate and efficient fashion. In this position the EOB Review Analyst/Patient Accountant will communicate with our billing specialists in regard to payer-specific issues observed that will impact revenue and to use critical thinking to properly apply payments to all tracking systems.  Familiarity with major insurance payors is a plus.

In this position the EOB Review Analyst/Patient Accountant will demonstrate the ability to post revenue quickly with minimal errors.  The EOB Review Analyst/Patient Accountant must possess an excellent eye for detail, superior time management skills, and be able to be comfortable with basic accounting principles.

Essential Functions:

  • Obtain, post, and reconcile all remits and accounting systems within the allowed 2-day time frame.
  • Balance and reconcile all payments batch every day to include lockbox, ERA, credit cards, satellite payments maintaining a cash management report
  • Review time-sensitive requests made by the billing team to post items that may need to be posted in an expedited manner
  • Work auditing assignments as distributed by the team leader
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger/ cash management report and daily cash reconciliation
  • Troubleshoot any balancing issues daily
  • Generating A/R reports and monitoring reimbursement issues
  • Posting your remittances within the 24 hours turnaround time - error-free
  • Assist with any projects issued by the team leader
  • Communicate with billing team members regarding global claims issues
  • Communicate any identified issues to your team lead and coordinate on communicating this with upper management and providing solutions to expedite payment and processing
  • Maintain HIPPA compliance at all times

 

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of Revenue Cycle experience in a healthcare setting
  • AR Payment Processing: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Must have excellent computer knowledge of Patient Accounting systems.

  • Possesses the ability to work in constantly changing environment, good judgement skills, and capable of making decisions with attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate workload with high degree of proficiency and accuracy.

  • Ability to work easily and cooperatively with other departments.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a flexible, diplomatic and expeditious manner.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of patients’ medical records and adherence to all HIPPA polices and regulations.
  • Experience in medical office, cash posting and related billing experience.
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and quality.
  • Knowledge of basic medical billing practices.
  • Ability to identify and address posting problems and processing issues.
  • Appropriate computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and medical billing software.

The position’s will be based at corporate Administrative Office.
