Western Technologies is a leading consulting firm with over 65 years of quality professional service in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing, and welding inspection.

Candidate must have related work experience to implement professional level services in the areas of asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene practices. This position will have regional project management responsibilities in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.

 

Education / Experience

Bachelors of Science in chemistry, biology, geology, or engineering

At least 5 years’ experience in consulting work specific to environmental or engineering disciplines.

OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPPER Training.

EPA accreditation for asbestos inspector, management planner, contractor supervisor, and designer.

EPA certifications for lead-based paint risk assessor.

 

 

General Responsibilities

 

Manage clients and develop business through marketing and sales activities.

Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and track progress to ensure timely deliverables.

Prepare publication-ready reports and proposals for review by principals and managers.

Monitor and oversee the implementation of work by sub-consultants, sub-contractors, or third party abatement firms.

Coordinate staff, equipment and technical experts assigned to projects from throughout the company.

Provide regulatory guidance to clients pertaining to environmental permitting and occupational safety practices.

 

One or more of the following is preferred:

 

Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or equivalent professional certifications.

Licensure for asbestos and lead in Nevada, Utah, or Colorado is preferred, but not required.

Computer skills including experience with MS Office Word/Excel. CADD experience a plus.
