CLIENT PROFILE: We have partnered with a recognizable and well-branded company in their search for a Senior Cost Accountant.

POSITION TITLE: Senior Cost Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for planning, collecting, and analyzing data such as raw material purchases, labor and overhead to determine costs of business activities. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs; identifying drivers of variances
• Analyzes changes in product design, such as raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
• Prepares estimates for new and proposed product costs, including special orders from customers
• Works closely with MFG & Operation managers from multiple plants/departments to provide support and guidance as it relates to inventories, costing and financial analysis
• Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures
• Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
• Maintains cost accounting system and its integrity in multiple databases, including BOM’s and standard costs; performs time studies and updates cost as appropriate
• Supports the MOS (Management Operating System) by generating data and reports through the review of MFG results.  Provides financial support for the department and makes recommendations to improve profitability
• Calculates ROI for proposed projects and update actual performance
• Performs month-end close of the General Ledger
• Reconciles inventories, including monitoring cycle count program and conducting physical inventories
• Assists in preparation of annual standard costs, including roll-up at year-end

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• At least 4-7 years of experience 
• Working knowledge of ERP systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
