Summary:  Manager in training will initially train in all aspects of the organization, including but not limited to operations, billing, and pricing with the future goal to step in to a leadership role.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Train in operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, costs, and expenses.
  2. Train to provide input to the development of service strategy and research and development of new and emerging services.
  3. Train to establish production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of services
  4. Train to provide guidance to the development of a process plans, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, and equipment needs.
  5. Train to ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  6. Train to review operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  7. Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of  operations, including compiling, storing, and data for reports.
  8. Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  9. Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred

Freight experience preferred

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Project Management software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 5 or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
