CLIENT PARTNER PROFILE & VALUE PROPOSITION:  LEAPROS has partnered with a highly successful real estate investment company in Orange County on their search for a  Director of Tax. 

The Tax Manager will report to the Director of Tax and will be responsible in overseeing all aspects of income tax compliance, including federal and state tax, tax planning activities, and complete other projects as directed. Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

TITLE: Tax Manager 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Oversee and work on various aspects of Federal & State income tax compliance and prepared by client items.
  • Conduct technical research on various tax and accounting matters and prepare internal memoranda to document management’s conclusions and/or manage third-party providers to perform the same.
  • Monitor and communicate emerging tax laws; research, analyze, and quantify any impact to the company’s financial statements; maintain strong knowledge of the industry and business.
  • Ensure deadlines for income tax and financial reporting requirements are me
  • Review the quarterly and yearly income tax provisions
  • Review Federal and State income tax returns prepared by a third-party tax prepare
  • Provide tax support to external auditors as required;
  • Proactively develop tax analysis for leadership requests, and other initiatives
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects, Tax Manager and unique accounting transactions
  • Identify areas for improvement in the tax process, including sales and use tax, property tax and implement process efficiencies

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BS in Accounting and CPA & MST is a preferred 
  • 3-5 years of experience - Big 4 accounting firm preferred 
  • Experience in corporate and partnership income tax return preparation in a multi-state environment
  • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills, including Excel & Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, team player with strong attention to details and ability to work independently
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical and sound judgment skills
