Talent Orchard LLC, a Woman Owned Small Business with 8a designation has been contracted by a large defense contractor in their search for an Audit Technical Liaison position located in Vienna, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a key team of cyber security professionals here at SAIC, providing technical assistance and expertise in developing and deploying security components protecting against inside and external threats for our client. We are seeking an individual that can bring varied technical knowledge to support both daily operations and help grow and mature our current cyber security environment. 

This Audit Technical Liaison will be responsible for coordinating with technical POCs from multiple teams and will work closely with an Audit Project Manager to move medium to large Information Technology projects to completion. This includes coordinating multiple work streams and ensuring consistency with other executing projects. Hand in hand with the Audit PM, the Technical Liaison will lead the planning and execution of the technical portion of multiple Audit remediation projects, facilitate the definition of security requirements and deliverables in collaboration with the stakeholders, identify and define project tasks and resource requirements as well as develops project plans.

These projects will be working solely for a Federal Civilian customer. Using a combination of coordination skills and specific security system knowledge, this role will be a key technical resource in rolling out many key technologies to the entire agency and contracting staff. Additionally, this role is responsible for supporting the project governance processes within the security department and escalate status and issues to the senior project manager and Audit team leads in order to enable effective decision making and deliver business value for the security team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Audit PM and other team members to ensure proper reporting of project activities and status as well as proactively escalating issues
  • Work with project stakeholders to track and advise on audit remediation activities under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) on behalf of a federal civilian agency as a contractor
  • Support the creation of Audit remediation best practices, tools, and ways to keep Audit remediation activities on schedule
  • Work with Audit PM to identify key stakeholders in Audit efforts and ensure system documentation reflects current system security configurations to include hardware and software components, data flow, interconnections, and ports, protocols, and services, etc.
  • Identify potential risks associated with system configurations and advise on mitigation strategies
  • Assist in estimating Level of Effort (LOE) involved in performing Audit activities
  • Help document residual risks and provide the cybersecurity risk analysis and mitigation determination results
  • Communicate the security posture of systems through designated reporting mechanism
  • Advise and mentor other team members in cybersecurity and provide quality assurance to IT solutions
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal departments to understand the IT security challenges and opportunities
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with the Security Engineering, Vulnerability Management, Business Applications and Operations resources on the tasks assigned
  • Maintain strong standards, and promote productivity, accountability and high morale

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is required
  • 9+ years of networking and/or security engineering experience with vulnerability scanning, antivirus & malware analysis
  • Broad technical experience related to IT operations, network monitoring tools, and system administration
  • Familiar with security solutions including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and SIEM
  • Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility
  • Experience identifying and defining system security requirements
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: multi-tasking, organizational skills; critical thinking; and the ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels and the ability to write comprehensive reports and senior level documentation skills
  • Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and excellent customer service skills
