Talent Orchard LLC, a Woman Owned Small Business with 8a designation has been contracted by a large defense contractor in their search for a Cyber Security Architect to support the Information Technology Cyber Security Engineering / Architecture team.  

This candidate will contribute to the review of existing security architecture, identify design gaps and recommend security enhancements. This position will report to the Cyber Security Engineering / Architecture Senior Manager. This role is a key business enabler to provide information security risk analysis and strategic recommendations for the ongoing improvement of Information Security within the organization. The candidate should have deep IT, cyber security, data and operational experience. This position and is critical to the success of the organization by providing high confidence in understanding the attack surface of our infrastructure. This position will be directly responsible for operational aspects as they work between teams to ensure secure firewall configuration within our partners in ITO operations.

Description of duties:

  • Experience with Public Cloud Platforms Architecture and Deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP) configuration and administration of security features & services
  • Experience with designing and implementing secure solutions across large enterprise.
  • Experience in current DEVSECOPS, Mobile, and Endpoint security solutions and architectures
  • Play a key role in the overall network security system design of large scale networks
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging security threats and design security architectures to mitigate them
  • Implement strategic security architecture vision, including standards and frameworks that are aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Provides architectural oversight and direction for enterprise-wide security technology.
  • Review existing architecture, identify design gaps, and recommends security enhancements
  • Collaborate with Network Security Operations teams to ensure proper operational management of network security systems.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operations of all in-place system

  • Strong TCP/IP networking skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage many different tasks simultaneously.
  • Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT industry as it relates to the technologies identified as primary responsibilities including awareness of new or revised solutions and improved processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Security Standards/Controls specified under various IT governance and compliance models (NIST, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, ISO 27001 27002)
  • Knowledge of technology and security topics including operating systems, network security, protocols, application security, infrastructure hardening and security baselines
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior management on highly sensitive projects that require the utmost discretion and maintaining strict confidentiality on all data, records, and tasks as required
  • Possession of industry certifications highly preferred. Including, but not limited to, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies including teamwork/collaboration, analytical thinking, communication and influencing skills, and technical expertise.
  • Maintain roadmaps, which include product selection, versions, upgrades, projects and milestones

Education

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience. PHD and nine (9) years or more of related experience.
