Functional User Support Specialist, Temp to Hire - York, PA

Position Description    

 Provide user and system support on various and multiple systems used in the Procurement area (external to the Information Resources Department). Assist on systems related projects of complex scope. This position is quasi-technical in nature and provides technical 'user' support and assistance for automated systems with the department(s). These internal systems may be mainframe or personal computer or other current systems used by BAE Systems. Principle responsibilities of this position include customer support, systems integrity and maintenance, design, development, implementation, validation, documentation and customer training.

This position is SEPARATE and DISTINCT from those in other job families that involve the use of automated systems as standard but non-principal activities. An additional discriminator of this job is greater than 70% of the employee’s activity is non-data entry, customer computing activity. The position does NOT work in IT, therefore is not writing or modifying Oracle System Code. However, the position does work very closely with the IT Business Analyst(s) (BA) assigned to Supply Chain as well as other IT BA's when necessary either in testing or troubleshooting Systems (like Oracle, ProPricer, TIPQA) functionality issues This position also works with our suppliers who use the Oracle iSupplier Portal - onboarding, training, troubleshooting, notifications etc regarding the use of the iSupplier Portal. Focus on increasing portal users.    
 

Skills Required    

Provide customer support, both to internal and external customers/suppliers, related to various purchasing systems as needed. Maintain system integrity and tables as required to keep system up-to-date; Address interface errors as they occur between systems. Review, develop and implement system solutions to a variety of complex problems. Develop reporting as required to support customer requests or analyze data; support audits. Develop and run data loaders which updates Oracle records as required to support customer requirements and system updates. Analyze new customer requirements and determine the appropriate solution; interface with I.T. to implement solutions; As new processes or systems are implemented, assist in reviewing, preparing and providing user training and documentation. Support system upgrades, patches, bug fixes, and conversions; Identify problem areas and recommend/implement technical solutions; Provide, maintain and review systems security access control    
 

Skills Preferred    

employee will usually function as a team member, however, will be eventually conduct training to all supply chain department employees as well as other functional departments as needed. Good organizational skills with ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and be able to prioritize heavy workload with conflicting priorities. Job involves investigating, troubleshooting and determining corrective action to system issues like out of balance receipt distributions on purchase orders; High mental/visual application required to conduct and coordinate systems analysis. Good communication skills: employee will be required to conduct training sessions as well as communicate with external customers like our suppliers. Employee also writes and maintains the training manuals, sends out communications, prepares presentations to supply chain management.    
 

Experience Required   

Some working knowledge of procurement principles, concepts and practices desired but not a requirement. Working knowledge and demonstrated practical skills using menu-driven software; PC: Windows, Microsoft applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access; Some knowledge of development/program tools such as Oracle EBS, OBIEE, Data Loader, Business Objects. These will be the primary tools used by this employee    
     
Education Required    Minimum High School graduate; preferred Bachelor's Degree with 2 to 5 years in related work experience. No specific major or degree required
