Responsibilities

A leading defense contractor is looking for an Associate Cyber Engineer/Software Developer to work alongside scientists from its advanced R&D division to harden transition a mature research prototype for customer use. This team delivers world class cyber research and engineering to government agencies, telecom carriers, utilities, and commercial enterprises. Drawing on its Bell Labs heritage, this team excels at creating innovative technologies and services to solve the most difficult and complex problems, shaping the state of the art in government and commercial cyber security. This candidate will work under direction from senior researchers to install, configure, operate, and maintain a mature research prototype system, with the eventual goal of integrating the system into the operational capabilities portfolio of the Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF). The candidate will work onsite at customer facilities and will have regular interaction with customer representatives. Experience with the following programming languages, specific technologies, and technology areas is strongly preferred:

Programming Languages: Python (expert fluency), C (fluent), x86 Assembly Language (familiar)

Specific Technologies: Docker, VirtualBox, IDA Pro, Hex-Rays, GHIDRA, RabbitMQ, CouchDB, Cuckoo Sandbox, InetSim

Technology Areas:

• Computer Network Operations
• Program Analysis (static and dynamic)
• Working familiarity with modern computer network protocols and architectures
• Working familiarity with Linux environments and basic system administration
• Compute and network emulation, containerization, and virtualization
• Reverse Engineering and the use of binary analysis and debugging tools
• Experience with full-stack development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field with 5+ years relevant work experience OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
• Ability and desire to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas
