Vehicle Auxiliary Systems / Special Equipment and Stowage Sr. Engineer - York, PA

Position Description    

The M88 Recovery Vehicle Auxiliary Systems / Special Equipment and Stowage Sr. Engineer will have responsibility for Special Equipment and Stowage on the M88 Recovery Vehicle Modernization effort.    

Skills Required    

Understanding of and ability to apply engineering principles, concepts, practices and standards. Ability to: analyze requirements, design mechanical hardware, and select appropriate hardware/components & materials, review drawings and associated Bill of Materials (BOMs). Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.    

Skills Preferred    

Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5 

   
Experience Required    

Experience designing mechanical hardware such as brackets, covers, seals, etc. Experience leading small design teams (3-5 people).    

Experience Preferred    Experience in the development and design of on-vehicle stowage provisions for equipment such as maintenance tools, deep water fording kits, etc. Experience in the preparation and revision of part procurement specifications for definition and control purposes to facilitate part/material acquisition, and supporting supplier management and material procurement activities. Experience working in the defense industry. Experience working with off-road or construction equipment.    

Education Required    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. May consider closely related degrees.
