We are seeking an accomplished Mechanical Engineer or Metrology Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team of engineers who specialize in iterative prototyping and component and subsystem testing. Our client, a leading consumer electronics company, requires team members with a specialized set of expertise to solve complex problems and help engineers hold what they have envisioned in their hands. The ideal Engineer enjoys hands on projects, prototyping, mechanical testing, design and development of fixtures, and learning something new on an everyday basis. 

Required qualifications

·       B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

·       Ability to use tools (i.e. laser cutter, mill) to alter/finish items for assembly

·       Personal skills to work within a team to achieve excellent results

·       Ability to program in LabView is required

·       Experience designing/building fixtures for testing/assembly

·       Knowledge of mechanical tests and material properties

 
Preferred qualifications

·       Requires minimal training on advanced testing systems

·       Applies experience and knowledge of mechanical systems to perform advanced tasks

·       Capable of designing and implementing tests at system/subsystem level

·       Ability to train others and document techniques for continuity

·       Inspect and measure parts and components both made internally as well as received from outside suppliers

·       Basic knowledge of metrology tools and methods

·       Ability to machine simple parts, using manual mill and assorted shop tools
