Responsibilities

This position is responsible for lab-related developer operations and integrations with equipment:

• Technical support of critical laboratory instruments in our state-of-the-art Ann Arbor laboratory. This includes robotic liquid handlers, thermal cyclers and sequencers.
• Technical support of our laboratory information management system (LIMS)
• Management of computers, networking, printers and VMWare-based images
• Monitoring of lab performance and root cause analysis of issues

 Qualifications

An ideal candidate will have experience in full-stack software development and DevOps, but also enthusiasm for working with hardware. Lab experience is a bonus but not required.

 All candidates should:

• Have a BS or MS degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or have equivalent experience
• Demonstrate competency with common DevOps skills including Linux, networking, monitoring and Virtual Machines
• Experience making full-stack applications, preferably with React/Flask/Python
• Familiarity with hardware such as printers, liquid handlers, thermal cyclers
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate points of view

 Additional desirable skills:

• Experience working with genomic data
• Experience working with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012
