Electric Bus Manufacturing Company BYD, in the Lancaster, CA area, is seeking a Director of Supply Chain leader. The Director of Supply Chain has overall oversight and responsibility for the structure and effectiveness of the Purchasing, Logistics, Inventory Management, ERP, and Warehouse Management and Distribution activities. The Director of Supply Chain will plan and direct all aspects of the corporation’s supply chain policies, objectives and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all materials management systems are robust, accurate and being followed.
• Oversight of materials department.
• Oversight of all company logistics including pricing negotiations.
• Oversight of all warehousing operations.
• Direct material supplier contract negotiations.
• Supplier selection, monitoring and development oversight.
• Establishe Purchasing Policies and ensures compliance.
• Oversight of direct material cost / continuous improvement activities
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ purchasing / materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough understanding of ERP systems and associated core integrated business processes.
• Ability to define and utilize key metrics to drive continuous improvements related to the ERP system.
• Ability to implement “best in class” systems and procedures in a high volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead, guide and direct subordinate team members in order to achieve world class status regarding materials management.
• Develop / refine departmental procedures and systems to ensure compliance and accuracy of data.
• Ability to help establish and execute department budget.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional negotiating skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
• Ability to project manage and drive results.
• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in business related field.
• Experience with ERP software and related systems.
