Position Summary: The GAP Supervisor is responsible for the review and attestations of level 1 home studies for relatives and non-relatives in the Guardianship Assistance Program. This position will ensure timely and thorough completion in accordance with Florida Administrative Code. This position also assists in Parent Pre-Service Training (PRIDE) and other training opportunities. The GAP Supervisor provides support in the resolution of all incident reports, referrals, and licensing concerns to existing Level 1 foster homes. This position manages a team of GAP Specialists and will support and serve as backup for the Relicensing Supervisor. This position will participate in the on-call rotation for placement in the second tier.

Technical/Functional Expectations:

  1. Reviews Level 1 Home Studies: The position reviews and attests to Level 1 initial and re licensure home studies inclusive of the assessment and evaluation of all household members and babysitters, background screening and all information required for the Unified Home Study.
  2. PRIDE Training: The position conducts Parent Pre-Service PRIDE training on a regular and ongoing basis to train relatives and non-relatives as well as facilitate other foster parent trainings.
  3. Liaison between Foster Parents and Case Managers: This position will serve as a Liaison between foster parents and case managers ensuring open communication and timely resolution of any identified concerns. This position will foster strong partnerships with foster parents and engage in timely resolution of any identified concerns.
  4. Quality Assurance: This position will participate in quality assurance activities for continuous quality improvement and for staff professional development.
  5. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Business Experience:

  1. PRIDE Trainer Certification - Required: This position requires candidate to possess certification as a PRIDE Trainer.
  2. Valid Driver License - Essential: This is required in order to travel throughout the County and other locations for client and other meetings.
  3. Effective verbal and written communication skills: This is required in order to develop effective and collaborative communications with children and families, the community and service providers. These skills are required to facilitate PRIDE classes and complete accurate and timely home studies.
  4. Advanced computer and data entry skills: This is required in order to maintain spreadsheets and data in foster care licensing.
  5. Certified Child Protection Professional - Essential: Required in order to serve in this role.
  6. Collaboration, negotiation and problem-solving skills: This skill and experience is required to ensure successful integration into our system of care.
  7. 4+ years prior experience in foster care licensing: Prior experience in foster care licensing is essential in order to fulfill expectations, adhere to statutes and ensure timely deliverables.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  1. BA/BS - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
  2. MA/MS - Master’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
  3. 4+ years foster care licensing required.
  4. 5+ years foster care licensing preferred.
