Career Evolutions is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer (Dedicated Services) for a fast growing Global Hi-Tech Company. Full-time, Direct-Hire or Contract opportunity up to $200K/Annual.

As part of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for providing consultation services, administering OpenStack clouds, and distilling your knowledge into our operations toolset. You will also act as an escalation point for the client and provide assistance in the form of operational expertise, support, training and mentoring.
Responsibilities
Work on-site at the client facilities in Michigan, USA, providing consulting, support, and cloud operational expertise
Automate operations and make our managed services more stable, predictable, and more capable of running the latest cloud technologies
Deploy, operate, and support production OpenStack clouds
Evaluate, learn, adapt tooling, train team members, and assist with the addition of emergent technologies into our managed service offering
Proactively update documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, policies and procedures and ensure that SLA’s are met
Provide assistance and guidance as the escalation point for the client
Work collaboratively with globally distributed peers on engineering, operations, and support tasks
Participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
Linux Systems Administration experience in managing large deployments
Experience working in a customer facing role
Extensive knowledge of Cloud technologies and experience with Software Defined Networks
Advanced programming skills with Python
Knowledge of IP networking, routing, and firewalls
Familiarity with Ubuntu and/or Debian packages
Knowledge of Virtualization technologies (PLUS)
Experience with Juju and MAAS (PLUS)
Experience working with a globally distributed team PREFERRED
