JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Installation of parts and components per work instructions.
  • Fabrication of parts and brackets as required using diagrams and/or engineering drawings  Follow oral and written task directives.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with corrective measures as needed due to engineering or design issues.
  • Self-inspect continually during work shift, analyze and offer suggestions for progressive improvement.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations

COMPETENCIES

Fabrication experience / certification preferred.  Highly skilled in Mig / Tig application (Ferrous and alloy metals. Stainless steel & aluminum A MUST). Knowledgeable and skilled in the proper use of cutting (Plasma, acetylene torch, shear) equipment. Skilled in reading comprehension, writing and mathematical skills, and able to use a measuring tape. Ability to understand written and verbal work instructions. Skilled in the operation of basic hand tools, shop tools and equipment. Competency in the use of measuring devices to stay within required tolerances. Highly skilled and mechanically inclined. Ability to learn processes quickly, adapt to process changes and implement those changes. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.  Keep a clean and safe working environment.

Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers. Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment. Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations. Good organizational and time management skills.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. May be exposed to caustic fluids and fumes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk ; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Lifting devices must be used or help must be requested for anything over 35 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

High school diploma or GED.

Up to two - four years welding experience or related field.

Tape Measurement and Blueprint reading skills a must. Aluminum, and stainless steel welding and heavy equipment manufacturing experience a plus.

Welding Certification a plus.
