Title:  Jr. AI/Machine Learning Engineer (Python, R, Hadoop)

Job Description:
This job description is for 2 Junior AI Engineers where we expect relevant academics background (Computer Science) and preferably some industry experience in IT field.

• Define architecture and selecting appropriate runtime components to host AI/ML models
• Support models built in Python and R
• Build API interface for AI/ML models
• Performance test and tune the AI/ML models and any runtime components
• Support Data Science team with any data movements, data transformation and analysis etc.
• Engineer and operationalize the AI/ML API environments
  • Deploy new hardware
  • Implement environments in our global data centers
  • Operationalize data center failover processes for inference engines
  • Integrate with corporate security systems, SOC, NOC etc. for monitoring and alerting
  • Define deployment best practices and automate promotion of code/models (DevOps processes)
  • Manage, maintain, refresh and upgrade environmental components (including patching etc.)
  • Capacity management and planning of the environment
• Optimize the design practices for building AI/ML models

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have experience programming with Python
• Must understand the package management for various environments (Python, R and Hadoop environments)
• Nice to have experience with Notebooks for data analytics
• Nice to have experience programming in R language
• Experience with deployment and management of Windows and Unix VMs
• Nice to have – experience deploying and managing containers
• Some experience understanding the AI/ML approaches
• Must have experience scripting with shell script and/or PowerShell
• Must have experience with administration of Hadoop ecosystem – specifically HDFS, Hive and Spark
• Nice to have experience implementing and managing Kafka
• Nice to have – Site Reliability Engineering experience (1+ years)
• Nice to have experience with GPU based compute for AI/ML learning and inference engine

Qualifications

• Master’s in computer science or Undergraduate in Computer Science / Electrical Engg with 1-2 years of IT experience
• Team player and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Must be highly resourceful and creative in fulfilling the job requirements
• Must be a great communicator
• Must be able to work independently with limited management
• Nice to have – 1-2 years of operations and management experience with data and/or online transactional platforms
• Nice to have – Develop and operationalized systems
