Job Description

• Supervises and coordinates activities and associates involved in the maintenance and repair of plant buildings, utility systems, and/or the installation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical equipment and/or machinery. Subordinate associates include classification as maintenance electricians, mechanics, machinists, welders, oilers, etc…

  Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze equipment failures. Determine cause and direct hourly staff to make necessary adjustments.
  • Assist hourly associates in working from blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Assist and oversee the rebuild of capital asset with both in-house and outsource labor.
  • Direct training efforts of hourly associates. 
  • Direct testing of instruments for repair, measurement, calibration.
  • Direct selection of appropriate materials and operate equipment to complete work, including electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices.
  • Maintain required maintenance records for equipment.

  Education/Work experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Journeyman’s card from a recognized apprenticeship program preferred
  • Experience in performing maintenance and repair on CNC and Automation machines
  • Experience supervising skilled trades employees and contractors

  ADDITIONAL requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing background
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Must observe all safety aspects and OSHA requirements, including Lockout & Tagout
  • The ability to train and be trained
  • Works independently and in a team environment
  • CNC logic and Control software knowledge and skill
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience
