Job Description:
In this role you will have the opportunity to grow your software engineering and DevOps skills as part of our energetic and expanding team, and directly support research and development efforts aimed at providing software development support services to produce and deliver software for Navy communications systems including Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) and Link-16.. We are seeking an engineer to complete our team that performs the full range of automated build and deployment activities for multiple target environments. We expect this software engineer to bring big ideas and energy to the team. Must be a nimble self-starter who is excited about DevOps and web applications and has the ability to think outside of the box in terms of how to apply build automation in novel ways..
As part of our team, on a day to day basis you will:
Develop and implement technical projects ranging from software applications to enterprise level solutions.
Develop software and the artifacts associated with software development using a defined process.
Support functional and system level testing
Troubleshoot and address bugs/issues arising from functional and full tests
Use Configuration Management system software repository (Git, SBM, Jenkins, Peer Reviews)
Work closely with Project Management to maintain successful development cycles and stay on schedule
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. in an engineering field (Computer, Software, Math, Physics, Electrical, etc.)
1-3 years of experience in software development to include:
Understanding of open source technologies and protocols
Experience with C++, bash
Familiarity with any Unix-like operating system
Knowledge of various DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration (CI) and Automated Deployment and use of the Jenkins Build Automation tool.
Familiarity with the Waterfall/Agile software development processes and git
Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship)
In addition to the above, we feel you would be a great fit if you have some of the below:
Operating System Experience – Experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7+, VxWorks 5.4/6.9, Windows 7/10.
Experience in general purpose scripting using languages such as csh, python, perl, or visual basic scripting (VBS).
Experience in setup, configuration, maintenance of Jenkins and ability to hook into various operating systems for automated compilation.
Experience with git from the command line or through a revision control tool (Sourcetree, GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
