The Maintenance Planner is responsible for creating and issuing a maintenance work plan for plant equipment and personnel on a predetermined periodic schedule. Additional activities include ordering maintenance and repair parts necessary for carrying out routing repairs on plant equipment and tracking and identifying repair activity in the plant’s CMMS system. Performance tracking metrics are maintained and reported to the Maintenance Manager. Follow up work orders are also created to address corrective maintenance across the plant. Standard operating procedures, job scope and preventative maintenance processes are maintained by planner within the CMMS system to ensure timely distribution of essential documentation. Planner will also maintain record of all safety inspection records performed on mobile and fixed rail equipment. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintenance planner is to assess safety requirements for jobs performed by team members. Safety audit checklists are issued with individual routines;
  • Build Job Work Packs in advance of work being performed including kitting and staging of materials required to perform the task;
  • Spare/repair parts are resourced to expedite delivery of required items in a timely manner with a focus on cost effectiveness;
  • Planner is to maintain TPM criteria for plant equipment (labels, equipment numbers, location mapping, and signage);
  • Equipment improvements / opportunities are to be tracked on startup punch list;
  • Periodic purchases of spare and repair parts are conducted by planner in order to maintain plant production and operations equipment. Preventative maintenance preformed on equipment assures reliability and dependability;
  • Planner will provide direction to Maintenance team members in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment and inform fellow members of areas of improvement to be accompanied by support documentation;
  • It will be up to the Planner to initiate procedural observations into the CMMS system. Planner should have the capability of providing detail observations and be able to communicate findings verbally and in writing;
  • Planner should also be able to exercise decisions that lead to continuous improvement of department organization and processes. There should be an inherent interest in learning the overall operation as operational needs interface with department requirements;
  • Reference technical manuals and interpret critical equipment requirements. Requirements for the position should include identification of mechanical and electrical foundations, identification of component parts, being able to determine material requirements for repair routines;
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement;
  • Position may require receiving plant deliveries and confirming that items comply with safety requirements;

 

Qualifications

 

 

•Basic Qualifications:

•High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution;

•Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Planner and / or Scheduler role;

•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

•Preferred Qualifications: 

•Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience in one or more of the following areas (Hydraulics, Pneumatics, HVAC, Electrical/Electronic Circuits, PLC’s, Machining, Welding, Wire Installation/Termination, Mobile Equipment Operation and Repair);

•Associates Degree from an accredited institution;

•Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing work environment;

•Minimum of 1 year of experience with hand-on maintenance work;

•Experience with CMMS; Oracle EAM preferred

•Experience with Maintenance Planning in a Manufacturing / Industrial environment;

•Possess one or more Predictive Maintenance or Condition Based Monitoring Certifications: (Infrared, Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Emissions, Machine Lubrication, Non-Destructive Testing, etc.);

•Experience with Aluminum Manufacturing.
