Hourly Rate: $18/hour

Position Summary: Participate in the calculating, posting, verifying and typing duties to obtain and record accurate financial data.

Technical/Functional Expectations:

  1. Accounts Payable - Essential Function: Process and document accounts payable transactions in order to accurately pay vendors and associates.
  2. Record Keeping - Essential Function: Establish or maintain an accurate record of transactions in order to create a history of payments for future reference.
  3. Comply w/ all accounting policies and procedures-Essential Funct: Required to ensure payments are made in accordance with and comply with all accounting policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  4. Payment Deposits - Essential Function: Prepare checks received for deposit and verify with remittance listing for a cash deposit in order to document deposits.
  5. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Business Experience:

  1. 1+ years of prior accounting experience: Prior experience and demonstrated competency required in A/P, A/R, data entry, filing and AP check mailings with minimal oversight.
  2. Strong computer skills: This is essential in order to quickly learn the unique database systems required to perform the functions of this position.
  3. Detail Orientation: A high degree of detail orientation is required to ensure accuracy of postings, check, payments and reconciliations.
  4. Communication and Interpersonal skills: This is required to effectively work in a dynamic team environment and participate in helping the department achieve its objectives.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma required.
  2. AA/AS - Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
  3. One (1) year experience in AP, AR, data entry required.
  4. Prior experience in non-profit environment preferred.
