Job Summary

 

Support electrical and mechanical facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, and new system installation. 

 

                                                                                                        

 

Essential Functions

 

Work both independently and with the maintenance team to perform daily maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks on all facility equipment and systems.

 

 

 

Manage outside contractor maintenance and new equipment/system installation activities.

 

 

 

Assist in developing, monitoring, and controlling spare component inventories.

 

 

 

Assist in the implementation of TPM initiatives and follow all Corporate Environmental Health and Safety programs and initiatives.  

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Perform preventative maintenance and basic inspections, including, but not limited to, the  following equipment and systems:

 

Facility auto-blasters and manual grit blast systems including duct work, system hoses, compressed air supply regulators/hoses, blast guns, system tables and mechanical motion systems.

Inspect and maintain facility dust collection systems, including photohelics/magnehelics, pulse solenoids, and cartridge inspection and replacement.

Perform furnace inspections on components such as fire eyes, argon panels, furnace cooling systems, and combustion air filters.

Perform Met Lab equipment inspections and PM’s on components such as closed loop water systems, sample polishing, and cutting equipment.

Perform inspections on all roof heating, facility exhaust, and HVAC fan and filter systems.

Perform EHS inspections of GFCI’s, Emergency lighting, Power cords/strips.

Perform daily inspections of facility part washing systems, air compressors, compressed air dryers, holding tanks, and evaporators.

Perform all routine electrical wiring and maintenance.

Assist in developing, monitoring, and documenting spare component inventories.

Assist in developing PM and equipment repair tool kits.

Perform PM’s on Low Temp furnace doors and tracks.

·        Work with the maintenance team to develop work instructions for standard and non-standard maintenance activities. (B4’s and JSA’s)

 

Candidate must have the ability to monitor and document maintenance and PM actions in the maintenance DATA base.

Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance. The next level of performance at this level would include preparing and performing furnace surveys, monitoring and controlling thermal couple needs of the furnaces, and assisting in specified calibration support.

Education:

 

 

 

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. 

 

Additionally, this position requires a current Electricians License in the State of CT.

 

 

Skills & Abilities:

 

 

 

Candidate must have 3 years  Electrical Experience. 

 

 

 

Knowledge in Environmental Health and Safety training  in Lock out/Tagout/Verify, scissor lift certification, NFPA 70E, and electrical awareness desirable.

 

 

 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures, maintenance work instructions, and documented equipment specifications and drawings a plus.

 

 

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

 

 

Ability to perform basic computer operations in the maintenance database , excel spread sheets, and word documents.

 

 

 

Person must have a positive attitude towards maintenance objectives and goals as well as well as all EHS initiatives.

The candidate should have a "family" culture mentality and be able to have other maintenance skills other than just electrical. The work schedule is 6:30am
