As an Ardon clinical pharmacist, you will use your clinical expertise to assist patients with their health needs. You will also be exposed to all aspects of the specialty pharmacy, such as creating and managing clinical programs, monitoring therapy effectiveness, and facilitating clinician consultations with colleagues and prescribers.


We are seeking a Lead Clinical Pharmacist who shares our vision. The Clinical Pharmacist Lead acts as the point person for the daily pharmacist operations and performs all the duties of a Clinical Pharmacist as needed to ensure adequate staffing and complete patient care. The Lead is also a clinical expert and will support the team in elevated patient/provider calls, critical decision making and clinical guidance. The Clinical Pharmacist Lead may supervise and support the activities of the Clinical Pharmacist team and pharmacy support personnel while monitoring quality assurance and performance. The individual’s responsibilities include maintaining pharmacist in charge licensure in all necessary states as directed by PIC and provides regulatory support by overseeing federal and state law evaluations. The Clinical Pharmacist Lead provides leadership and direction to the team to support the company’s quality program and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
 

Primary Functions:
01.    Performs all of the functions of a Clinical Pharmacist
02.    Creates and maintains the Clinical Pharmacist staffing schedule, responding to changes and challenges as they arise to ensure appropriate scheduling to address business needs.
03.    Acts as a resource to the Clinical Pharmacist, Resource and BEO teams, supporting day to day operations and directing work as needed.
04.    Caretend subject matter expert (SME) working closely with BSA to improve core system functionality. Includes release testing, error trouble shooting and analysis of issues and team support.
05.    Acts in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, with the highest ethical standards Ardon consistently strives to achieve.  Thus, legal and ethical compliance is an essential duty of this employee.
06.    Monitors and ensures operational adherence to all state, federal, and local laws pertaining to medication dispensing, maintenance of patient information, performance of patient service as well as company policies and procedures.
07.    Organizes and facilitates routinely scheduled pharmacist huddles while supporting and encouraging the participation of the Clinical Pharmacist team. 
08.    Supports orientation and training of new Clinical Pharmacists.
09.    Serves as a preceptor for pharmacy student interns.
10.    Coordinates the successful completion of clinical assessments and other clinical programs as directed.
11.    Coordinates clinical training and in-service education on new medications as needed.
12.    Works with the Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) and Manager of Pharmacy Operations on projects and leadership initiatives.
13.    Manages operational and personnel issues when the Supervisor of Operations is unavailable.
14.    Provides active involvement in the accreditation and reaccreditation process.
15.    Audits Clinical Pharmacist and PCA calls to ensure content aligns with corresponding Pharmacist and PCA functionality and adheres to compliance standards.
16.    Supports development of auditing procedures focusing on monitoring for adherence to procedures and promoting team standardization of processes.
17.    Provides leadership and auditing support for manufacturer programs.
18.    Responsible for monthly sample quality checks for specific manufacturer programs.
19.    Completes quality control checks on prescriptions to ensure all policies, procedures, and laws are followed.
20.    Monitors and utilizes call center application and pharmacist metrics to ensure optimal customer service delivery by Clinical Pharmacists.
21.    Documents and reports operational errors as instructed by Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations.
22.    Uses available resources to gather information on drugs, equipment, and patient monitoring.
23.    Assists in the completion of quality control and performance improvement procedures as requested by the PIC.
24.    Stays knowledgeable of current clinical issues, industry practice standards, and accreditation standards, and incorporates them into daily practice.
25.    Monitors and ensures appropriate documentation of care delivered to consumers and of drug prescriptions as described in the Pharmacy Policy and Procedure Manual and as mandated by individual Oregon Board of Pharmacy requirements.
26.    Acts as a resource and consultant to physicians, referral sources, and consumers regarding potential adverse reactions, interactions, and proper use and administration of drugs dispensed.
27.    Reports adverse events to the appropriate collector, such as MedWatch and necessary manufacturers, in a timely manner.
28.    Assists in the implementation of new managed care prescriptions and other projects as needed.
29.    Possesses and utilizes specialized skills to accept, check, and answer questions concerning prescriptions.
30.    Remains dependable and maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality.
31.    Actively participates and provides support as needed to leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.
32.    Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
