Engineering Co is looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer (PE).  This position can be based out of our Shreveport City, Louisiana or Longview, Texas offices.   

Must be a PE in Texas 

Our structural engineers are responsible for the overall development of structural building projects, working with designers/technicians and other engineers.  This specific position will be based primarily in the industrial facility design group with projects at new and existing facilities including manufacturing facilities, wood product mills and facilities, oil and gas processing facilities, etc. Candidates must have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Principles of Engineering exam and be a licensed P.E. The majority of our work is in the state of Texas, so this position will also require the candidate be able to obtain Texas licensure if not currently licensed in Texas.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordination with engineers, architects, clients and other professionals and at all times represent the company in a professional and courteous way
  • Organize and manage structural design efforts for multiple projects
  • Design and layout structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments including the preparation of plans, schedules and details using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Design structural systems of cast-in-place and precast concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood and cold formed steel framing for a variety of structure types
  • Design of reinforced concrete foundations for buildings, equipment and other structures, as well as design of building slabs and area paving
  • Prepare structural calculations
  • Prepare written documents such as specifications, reports, etc.
  • Ensuring drawings meet the required codes and standards
  • Meeting agreed deadlines
  • Perform and/or coordinate the review of shop drawing submittals
  • Perform construction site observation visits and prepare reports of site visits completed
  • Attend internal/external design review meetings

 

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer with the ability to be licensed in Texas
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD programs
  • Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including IES’s Structural Software Suite (VisualAnalysis, VisualFoundations, etc.) and Bentley’s RAM Structural System.
