Data Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Talent Orchard has been contracted with a top tier a contingent opportunity for a Data Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a GoArmyEd contract. This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located in Huntsville, AL.

The Data Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME):

- Will be responsible for the data migration this requires strong engineering & Oracle/Campus Solutions knowledge.
- Will also need to create adhoc reports using big data analytics to review the data transfer.
- They must be knowledgeable in data meta tagging, data discovery and extrapolation of gaps/analysis.
- This Data Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) will work with migration of historical data from Oracle Campus Solutions and/or PeopleSoft.
- This requires knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft campus Solutions modules such as Campus Community, Admissions, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Student Financial modules.
- Knowledge of student information systems to access college/universities data is desired.
- Knowledge of migrating data from mainframe to web-based Java applications is desired.
- They will participate in all software development phases (requirements, analysis, design, develop, test) to support the software implementation of custom and COTS/ERP solutions.
- Adhering to the agreed upon software development methodology, the Data Migration SME will collaborate with the software development team and Enterprise Engineer to develop modern web-based system that accesses the historical data.
- Working within the software development framework, the Data Migration SME will help develop scripts as well as recommend and implement tools to migrate/access historical data by Java- based system.
- The Data Migration SME will work closely with the client to identify the relevant data to deliver scalable design specifications that will satisfy a client’s business requirement.
- With the use of proven development standards and enterprise approved engineering methodologies, the Data Migration SME helps team develop the documented design and test the solution to ensure software meets the data migration requirements.
- Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Contributes to development of new principles and concepts.
- Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Recommends/makes decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
- Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
- Works under consultative direction toward pre-determined long-range goals and objectives.
- Assignments are often self- initiated.
- Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
- Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of supervisor.
- Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.
- Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically results in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect image of organization's technological capability.
- Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs.
- Acts as adviser to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- BS degree from an accredited institution, or four (4) years of related experience in lieu of degree, plus eight (8) years or more experience

Clearance Requirement:

- Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Secret
- Clearance Level To Obtain: Secret
