Job Description

The selected candidate will support launch of end items to meet customer specific application package and engineering requirements as well as support Americas engine thermal management new business pursuits.  The selected candidate will act as the primary technical interface to the customer for T&E product line design related topics for designated programs and pursuit efforts, provide all necessary engineering deliverables to support customer new model program(s), and support internal program reviews with technical deliverables and support manufacturing as necessary to successfully launch new electromechanical pump and valve designs. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead design and release of new T&E end items
  • Interface with existing as well as potential OE or Tier 1 customers
  • Negotiate packaging space and design trade-offs
  • Provide direction to CAD, CAE, and test personnel
  • Lead program specific DFMEA
  • Conduct application specific testing and customer Report (DVP&R)
  • Interface with manufacturing facilities to insure designs are feasible
  • Interface with Purchasing and Quality as needed to support the program
  • Develop and maintain bill of materials for applications and quotes
  • Support Program Management to ensure all engineering deliverables are completed on time and properly documented
  • Lead program specific technical design reviews
  • Manage program specific warranty analysis efforts

Years of Experience

 3-5 years related experience

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to support the design, development, test, new product launch
  • General understanding of automotive HVAC, Engine Cooling, and Battery Cooling architectures
  • Experienced in design of automotive components
  • Experience in quality disciplines such as DFMEA, etc…
  • Experience in injection molding and Thermal/Electromechanical technologies a plus
  • Experience in Emissions products (EGR Cooler, Valve or Wastegate) a plus
  • Understanding of automotive product test methodologies and equipment
  • Ability to apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly concepts
  • Able to interpret CAE results and utilize to optimize designs
  • Ability to conduct Technical Design Reviews
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills
  • Experienced in project planning and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with Automotive APQP process
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

Special Requirements (i.e., Overtime, Travel, etc.)

Limited travel required to suppliers, customer, and manufacturing plants during launch.
