Description

We’re seeking multiple Network Engineers to join our client's team in Springfield VA.

What you’ll do:

-Plan, implement, manage and optimize Riverbed SteelHead WAN Optimization solution for a major federal government agency with over 1,000 remote sites.
-Standardize and optimize enterprise WAN optimization policies and operational best practices
-Build cooperative relationships between infrastructure, application and security teams with a focus on streamlining WAN Optimization operations
-Manage, troubleshoot and improve the operations of the Riverbed SteelHead solution
-Quantify and communicate business and technical value and KPIs of the solution
-Assist with creation and updates to SOPs, knowledge base and design documentation.
-Assist network monitoring team with performance analysis using Riverbed SteelCentral suite, NetScout, WireShark and other tools.

What you’ll bring:
-Active US government security clearance (Prefer DHS EOD. Public trust, NACI or DOD are acceptable.)
-A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS) or 10+ years of related hands-on experience
-5+ years’ experience in IT with a focus on network operations and engineering
-Cisco CCNA or higher certification
-Robust OSI Layer 3-7 knowledge, especially with HTTP, HTTPS and Microsoft protocols
-Hands-on experience engaging clientele in consulting-related environments
-Hands-on experience with Riverbed SteelHead, Riverbed SteelCentral or related technologies
-An aptitude for technical writing, including assessment reports, presentations, and operating procedures
-Strong understanding of ITSM best practices
-Familiarity with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Information Security policies and Special Publications

Bonus points:

-Riverbed RCSA-W or RCSP-W certification
-ITIL, WCNA, PMP, other RCSA or RCSP certifications
-Familiarity with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) framework, Business --Process Management Notation (BPMN) and Universal Markup Language (UML)
-Hands-on experience creating useful scripts, tools or automation with Python
-Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions
