Position Description:

**Must be open to working at client sites in Washington, DC.**

 You will enhance the cyber security posture of 26 civilian government agencies through improved visibility into user credential management. You will actively identify and mitigate a wide range of cyber risks and will also work closely with a wide variety of agencies, learning their mission, priorities, organization and unique challenges. This opportunity will support a dynamic, fast-paced and energetic project running 20+ concurrent implementations.

  • Work with a highly technical team focusing on supporting the integrating of next generation cyber security technologies for a strategic federal customer. 
  • Activities include hands on support of Information Systems Engineer, to be part of a cyber security team to analyze and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks. 
  • Assist with integrated, dynamic cyber defense. 
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development and integration of hardware, software, human-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution. 
  • Develops integrated IT system testing requirement, strategies, devices and systems. 
  • Directs overall system-level testing and all other relevant cyber security standards, directives and policies, including the alignment with the administration, implementation and configuration of security tools to enhance the risk posture of customer networks. 
  • This includes applying technical expertise in implementing efficiencies and creating strategies to better detect and support security controls and respond to cyber incidents by prioritizing mitigation actions. 
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a diverse group of security engineers in developing solutions for complex challenges.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Experience with planning, testing and reporting on systems in a lab and production infrastructure, including testing and analysis of security and functional performance testing
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and the Risk Management Framework
  • Experience with planning, testing and reporting on systems in a lab and production infrastructure, including testing and analysis of security and functional performance testing
  • Experience with a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Red Hat and Solaris and platforms, including VMWare and AWS to support the operational testing of new capabilities
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools
  • Experience with developing and enhancing operational procedures and new, innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges
  • Knowledge of ITIL change managements and problem management best practices
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent team collaboration skills

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years+ of experience in Federal government information security
  • Security+ certification
  • Extensive experience in leading systems engineering requirements and design assessments and audits
  • Extensive experience Identifying and mitigating security risks 
  • Excellent understanding of security policy compliance

  • Security relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, CEH
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Understanding of federal cyber security guidance such as NIST SP 800-37 - Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: a Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137 - Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations. 
  • Understanding of the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM).
