ELECTRICAL HELPER/ASSISTANT

Job Description

Strategic Connections, Inc. is seeking to hire an Apprentice Electrician in the Hickory/Lenoir area. As an

Apprentice Electrician you would need to perform commercial electrical work by assisting a

Journeyman Electrician.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pull and install high voltage wiring.

• Carry and maneuver a ladder to and from worksite.

• Use measuring instruments and hand tools to measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.

• Test electrical equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning, using a testing meter.

• Assist with maintaining a clean work area.

• Maintain construction tools and equipment.

• Produce quality work that meets or exceeds NEC requirements.

• Move electrical materials to locations within the worksite where they are needed.

• Other related job duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Motivated individual who is willing to work and learn.

• Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions.

• Knowledge of the use of power tools, measuring devices, ladders, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 1-5 year’s electrical experience.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Clean background check and drug screen.

• OSHA 10 Certification desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This job operates in a new and/or established construction environment.

• Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, with an occasional need to stoop or kneel and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work at heights and climb ladders.

• Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• May work long hours, with exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
