Job Description

Strategic Connections, Inc. is seeking to hire a Journeyman Electrician for the Hickory/Lenoir area. As a Journeyman Electrician you would plan, supervise, and perform all phases of installation, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and service work in new, existing, and remodeled worksites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability perform all phases of commercial electrical work related to new/existing building construction and equipment moves, adds and changes.

• Assign duties and inspects work of helper/s.

• Ensure proper safety training and code compliance for assignment/contract.

• Provide on the job training and development of subordinates.

• Streamline work processes and work cooperatively with Manager and subordinates to provide high quality work and service.

• Other related job duties, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Demonstrate knowledge of (NEC) National Electrical Code.

• Possess valid State Journeyman license.

• Ability to interpret and read instructions, technical documentation, blue prints, and schematics.

• Skilled in safe operation of and application of electrical tools to include circuit testers, power analyzers, ground rod resistance meters, and residual device testers among other necessary tools to perform the job.

• Install feeders; size wire and conduit; switchgear and device installation and termination; layout and prep; motors and controls install and troubleshooting.

• Follow and comply with lock-out/tag-out and safety procedures per company and site requirements.

• Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems and equipment using test instruments and troubleshooting equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 5+ years of commercial electrical experience.

• A valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

• Clean background check and drug screen.

• OSHA 10 Certification/OSHA 30 preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This job operates in a new and/or established construction environment.

• Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, with an occasional need to stoop or kneel and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work at heights and climb ladders.

• Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• May work long hours, with exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
