ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Our client combines old-fashioned professionalism with modern day savvy in providing the highest-quality representation in the areas of estate planning, probate, taxation and related litigation.  They are currently seeking a dynamic Administrative Assistant to add to their team!

Summary

Acts in the capacity of Secretary/Administrative Assistant to assist 3-5 Attorney’s and Paralegals with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Essential Duties

  • Timely filing of documents and organize client files
  • Set up and maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter
  • E-filing in State and Federal courts
  • Create a reliable calendar and schedule appointments
  • Prepare documents for attorney or paralegal review
  • Client contact to include scheduling appointments, asking follow up questions, and coordinating with regard to original estate planning documents

Essential Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are REQUIRED
  • Proficient in working with correspondence, possess strong organization skills
  • The ability to communicate with court personnel in obtaining settings, trial dates, and filing information
  • Highly proficient in computer operation
  • Legal experience not required

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of clerical or secretarial experience preferred

Language Ability

Ability to read and analyze correspondence.  Strong writing ability is crucial, with particular attention to correct spelling and grammar. Ability to proofread legal documents for correct grammar and spelling and consistency within documents.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.   Ability to use common sense to address issues and problems in an efficient manner.

Computer Skills

Strong working knowledge of the Internet, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word (advanced), MS Excel, and editing software such as Adobe Acrobat or Nitro.
