Job Description – Logistics Coordinator

  • Reporting to: Director of Operations
  • Direct Reports: CDL A and CDL B Drivers
  • Location: Kapolei, HI

 

Core Objective: Plan incoming vessels/containers, prioritizing workflow with the warehouse supervisor, scheduling and routing shipments while ensuring equipment requirements are met.

 

Key Activities:

  • Review incoming sailing re-caps and container manifests, plans workflow to process all incoming freight, coordinate container movements with haulers and Warehouse Supervisor (which containers are worked om what days, and in what sequence).
  • Ensure workflow plan meets all customer requirements and required delivery dates.
    • For example: If Customer ABC has a required delivery date of Tuesday 7-10AM, ensure workflow plan includes devanning of the container that contains Customer ABC’s freight on Monday so it is available to route for delivery Tuesday morning to meet their expectation.
  • Maintain the appropriate equipment types and quantities to ensure customer needs are met (flat-racks, empty containers)
  • Schedule all deliveries/spots, route all drivers, process all driver paperwork (POD’s, ingate/out-gate tickets).
  • Ensure all incoming freight is offered to our customer base within 48 hours of availability, should they choose to receive it at a later date, ensure storage charges are invoiced for any shipments offered, but not yet scheduled, 5 days after it became available. Maintain our company service standard that all we are to attempt to schedule all deliveries within 48 hours of availability.
  • Process and manage the weekly freight on the floor process, ensuring any errors have been corrected within 24 hours of receiving the freight on the floor report from the warehouse supervisor.
  • Schedules “light” equipment maintenance and upkeep (safety checks, small repairs under $1,000), ensuring customer needs are met outside of the repair times.
  • Provides feedback to the warehouse supervisor as well as the director of operations from customers such as loading preferences, concerns, or compliments.
  • Other duties as directed by the Director of Operations.

Preferred Credentials:

  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience
  • A minimum of 1 year dispatching experience on Oahu
