Network Engineer

Linthicum, MD

Talent Orchard has been retained by DEI as their outsourced recruiting organization to manage their hiring process and we are searching for a Network Engineer to support a DoD Customer in Linthicum, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Installation and administration of Cisco switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls and network management tools supporting the Agency’s networks on different domain classifications of Department of Defense.
• Troubleshooting, installations, maintenance, conversion, cutovers and sustainment of IT components.
• Maintain, support, and troubleshoot several classified and unclassified networks to include: NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS, and other networks as required.
• Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Act as a Consultant for systems problems and solutions beyond the knowledge of technical tier one and tier two support staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have 10 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree; or 18 years of professional experience without a degree
• Must have an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
• Demonstrated Network Engineering experience, including understanding of LAN/WAN operations and TCP/IP concepts
• Experience with Cisco switches and routers
• Managing Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• Managing Port Security
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
• Monitoring firewall traffic and configuring rule sets
• Experience configuring and managing VLANs
• Experience with IAVA, security checklists
• STIG reviews and implementation
• DoD 8570 Certification (Security + certification)
   

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
• CCNA or CCNP
• Working knowledge of the VPN and the Internet Protocol
• Security (IPsec) that enables VPNs
• Experience with IAVA, security checklists
• Experience with tools supporting the network infrastructure such as SolarWinds
• Experience with Quality of Service (QOS) Functions
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
• VOIP experience
