Conexess Group is a staffing company that specializes in finding the right talent for our clients and connecting people with new opportunities.Our client is expanding its Big Data Analytics group and is looking for high-level talent to join them in this high-priority effort. The Big Data Engineer will work with other highly talented Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and BI professionals and deal with some of the most advanced data solutions to engineer new analytics tools that deliver never-before-seen industry insights.
JOB SUMMARY
The Big Data Engineer performs advanced data modeling and optimization of data and analytics solutions at scale. They are a subject matter expert in data management and data access (big data and traditional data marts), advanced in programming, advanced in database modeling, and familiar with analytic algorithms and applications.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- will leverage data types and various data models to enable a range of analytic solutions
- will leverage technologies for managing and manipulating data, scaling data models and solutions to support analytics that drive business insights across the organization
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of data engineering experience utilizing the Hadoop platform
- Advanced coding experience/skills with the following:
- Linux shell scripting
- Python or R language or Java
- Apache Spark
- Demonstrated mastery in applied big data technologies and tools such as: Oozie, Airflow, Kafka, Knime, Hive, Pig, Impala
- Experience with NoSQL databases
- Proficiency with data modeling and solution scaling
- AWS and/or Azure framework (preferred)
- Working knowledge of packaging/build tools such as sbt, Apache Maven or Ant (preferred)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience working for large organizations (highly preferred)
- Understanding of Data Mining, Data Modeling, and Data Provisioning (acquisition, transformation and sharing)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership skills, and self-starter mentality
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work collaboratively across functions
