POSITION SUMMARY

Perform all equipment design drafting activities for the Engineering Department, including document control within the Department quality management system.

 

POSITION FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

  • Perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling of equipment systems and components
  • Maintain “as built” drawings for all completed projects
  • Create/maintain equipment data sheets and specifications for key equipment
  • Draft/update electrical drawings in conjunction with Controls Engineer
  • Manage the document control aspects of all design documents, project folders
  • Manage the document control/flow for shop work orders, equipment pick lists
  • Prepare and update Bills of Materials for projects and standard system designs
  • Create and update Operations and Maintenance Manuals for equipment systems

 

Marginal Functions:

  • Assist engineers with obtaining vendor quotes  and preparing cost estimates for new projects
  • Facilitate updates to projects lists for design improvements to standard systems
  • Participate in design review meetings and document design changes for review/approval
  • Prepare and maintain quality management system procedures for areas of responsibility
  • Assist marketing department to provide equipment models for marketing literature purposes

 

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands (Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):

  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Use of computers and other electronic devices for long periods of time
  • Occasional work activities in shop areas to document new equipment builds and modifications
  • Lifting, bending, etc.

 

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions (Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):

  • Combination of office and plant environment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.  Odors, loud noises, and heat if and when in shop areas.
  • Exposure to any number of elements but none present to the extent of being disagreeable.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree with major in drafting and/or industrial design/engineering
