Job Description

Under general supervision, contributes to the software development process by ensuring complete and accurate documentation of system requirements.  Serves as a liaison between customers and development departments during the product development phase. This candidate will also take part in ensuring the quality of new and existing products by executing test plans and scripts to verify that new or modified software programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of five years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• Experience in quality assurance or software testing.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Interacts with customers to gather system requirements.
• Defines the system and functional requirements of the product.
• Prepares business requirements and functional specifications.
• Serves as a resource and/or participant in business process re-design activities. Assists the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and business function.
• May perform application, system and regression tests.
• Responsible for creating business requirements and system documentation, as well as contributing to end-user and project management documentation.
• Works with quality assurance and programming teams to ensure changes are migrated into production correctly.
• Interacts with technical teams to convey business requirements.
• Works with industry research groups to prepare for product trends.
• Executes and creates test plans and clear, concise test scripts for new products or enhancements to existing products.  Defines comprehensive scenarios and variations in data to adequately perform testing.
• Schedules and performs functional, integration, regression, and release testing; submits errors and issues to development for correction, and retests once errors have been corrected.  Reports test results and status as appropriate.  Tracks defects and causal analysis to closure.  May review and certify test results of other analysts and testers.
• Reviews and provides feedback on requirements, design, and scope documents.
