POSITION TITLE: Senior Tax Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY – The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible in assisting with all aspects of income tax work paper preparation, including federal and state tax, tax planning activities, and complete other projects as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Senior Tax Accountant will prepare tax workpapers for Partnerships, Trusts, limited liability companies, and corporations
  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for investment funds, partnerships and taxable subsidiaries, including estimates and extensions
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance of ASC740
  • Supports and preparation of the K-1 and works with external tax advisors in preparation of Schedule K-1s
  • Prepares quarterly and annual tax income and asset tests to ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborates with other departments to provide relevant tax information.  
  • Research federal and state tax issues and assist in the development of ongoing tax strategies in order to minimize tax liabilities
  • Assists in with technical tax assessments for acquisitions
  • Assist in various other tax matters as needed, including ongoing review of tax procedures in order to streamline processes and minimize risk

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Accounting or Tax (CPA or MST is a plus)
  • 3 - 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting (Big 4 accounting firm is a plus)
  • Experience in corporate and partnership income tax return preparation in a multi-state environment
  • Experience with Partnerships/ REITs and International taxation is a plus
