Talent Orchard has been retained by DEI as their outsourced recruiting organization to manage their hiring process and we are searching for a Senior Network Engineer with an active Top Secret Clearance to join an exciting program in Fort Belvoir, VA.  Our client specializes in modernizing information technology systems by re-engineering existing systems to harness the full power of emerging technologies and proven innovations to serve the business needs of their customers.

Role:

The ideal candidate will serve as an onsite Network Engineer for the Customer’s Operations Support Team, and will design, implement and deploy systems and transition into operations for maintenance while working with a group of highly-skilled Network Engineers to deploy technical solutions for numerous IT systems. In the event of outages, the Sr. Network Engineer will also serve as a Tier 1 and Tier II support for the Network Operations Group supporting the Customer’s Enterprise and/or Architecture.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and deploy technical solutions for numerous Information Technology Systems
• Implement and maintain the agency’s network infrastructures as a member of the Network Operations Group across local and remote sites
• Install and configure network equipment
• Perform network implementation, migration, testing and maintenance for the Baseline
• Troubleshoot networking issues
• Install and maintain security patches

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS and/or combination work experience
• Minimum 12 years’ experience working in information technology and network engineering
• US Citizen with Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• 8570 Compliance: Security+ CE (required prior to start date)
• CCNA required
• Strong understanding of routers and switches
• Experience implementing DoD mandated security configurations
• Experience installing and maintaining security patches on servers 
• Experience with Cisco ISE
• Experience with OSPF routing. (Open Shortest Path First)
• Experienced with in-depth protocol analysis with tcpdump
• Experience in F5 load balancers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Cisco routing and switching
• Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a team environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Demonstrated a strong work ethic and ability and willingness to take on new challenges

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within a VMware datacenter
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager
• Experience with Microsoft Lync 2013
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall
