Operator Specialist answers and processes a high volume of calls for multiple Hospital locations in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.  Implements procedures for processing codes and emergency situations quickly and accurately.  Monitors various alarm systems in work area to quickly and efficiently notify appropriate personnel when an active alarm is received.  Provides information and/or transfers calls to the proper location as appropriate.  Dispatches appropriate personnel by radio (at some locations) or paging system as needed.  Delivers appropriate pages to physicians, on-call personnel and other Hospital employees as needed.  Responsible for initial contacts of numerous clinical and non-clinical department’s on call personnel via pager or phone.  Participates in training, orientation and mentoring of new employees or as assigned by manager.  Conducts overhead pages accurately and professionally.  Maintains flexibility in work schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
