Senior Software Engineer-Pharmacy

Columbia, MD

Talent Orchard LLC, a boutique talent acquisition consulting firm, has been retained under contract by a leading Federal Contractor (IT Systems Integration) to assist in identifying an experience Senior Software Engineer who will be part of the team which does complete redesign task of migrating multiple legacy systems & databases to one system and one database leveraging open source technology on AWS architecture. The development work is performed in Columbia, MD and ability to get to the location is a must to qualify for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Full Agile development of web based enterprise solutions utilizing J2EE.
• Develop and integrate solutions using various open source architectures.
• Lead technical discussions to provide guidelines and approach to team.
• Collaborate with team to design new features and functionality.
• Present solution and release information to stakeholders including the a Technical Review Board for various gate reviews.
• Support security assessments as required.
• Serve as a mentor to technical team.
• Monitor progress against deliverables, employing effective risk and issue management strategies.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with CMS stakeholders and other contractors.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 10+ years as a technical lead or senior developer building multi-tier, enterprise web-based solutions using technologies/frameworks such as J2EE, Spring MVC, JBoss, Fuse, MQ, RDBMS, AWS, SOA.
• 12+ years in one or more technical disciplines (e.g. architecture, process re-engineering, development, verification).
• 3-7 years estimating, planning, and executing complex projects using Agile methodologies.
• Developing systems with Section 508 compliance.
• Building strong customer relationships through Agile team(s) and personal performance.
• 2-3 years supporting CMS Medicare or Medicaid programs.
• Collaborating in a multiple contractor environment.
• Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written. Includes the ability to effectively communicate complex information to audiences with varying technical and system backgrounds and at multiple organizational levels.

Desired Skills:

• Supporting client stakeholders with varying levels of Agile experience.
• Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel
• Master's in Information Systems or Computer Science.
• Expertise in Secure Coding and Secure Development Life Cycle.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Mentoring.

Required Education / Certifications:

• Computer Science degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related major.

Clearance:

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
