Career Evolutions is looking for a Jr. Java Developer for a growing company in Phoenix, AZ. This is an amazing contract opportunity with a competitive hourly compensation.
You will work with the Software Development team in a fast-paced team environment and be responsible for the development and implementation of custom solutions for users and clients, as well as, for maintaining and supporting existing systems. You will design, code and test moderate to complex object oriented applications, and continually improve the technical design, architecture and frameworks underlying the current product line and new products. You will also design and document technical architecture, ensure technical components are usable, reliable, scalable, extensible, interoperable, and reusable, and perform appropriate design/code reviews and unit/integration testing.
Typical Duties will Include
Creates solutions by developing, implementing and maintaining Java based components and interfaces.
Write well designed, testable, efficient code and ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
Will prepare and produce releases of software components.
Will support continuous improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
Must have hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns is a must.
Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC). Experience with test-driven development.
Background and Requirements
JavaScript without helpers such as jquery
Web services knowledge
Three years of professional experience with JavaScript
Knowledge of Websphere v6 helpful
Knowledge of IBM Cognos v8 (Metrics and reporting software) helpful
Knowledge of RequestCenter helpful
Troubleshooting issues with the server environments; related to application issues (RequestCenter, Websphere, Oracle, .NET C#, JSP, JavaScript, Cognos, IIS) or environmental issues due to system change
Supporting server infrastructure; patch management, security policy mandates, oncall support, implementing server enhancements - 16 servers in the environment; 7 Linux servers & 8 Windows servers
