Senior Java Developer/Technical Lead

Alexandria, VA

Talent Orchard has been contracted by a long-standing IT Government Contractor in their search for an experienced Senior Java Developer/Technical Lead to support federal customers in Alexandria, VA. This multi-year position is a terrific opportunity for a seasoned Senior Java Developer with Tech Lead experience to support a critical, high-profile effort.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to development activities such as project estimates, scheduling, and deliverables.
• Research designs, and develop applications.
• Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Develop software system technical design procedures, programming, technical testing and documentation.
• Analyze, design, and document system implementation, extension, and follow best practices for design and deployment.
• Create technical design documentation for software changes and development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Conduct code reviews for system modifications and development.
• Participate in all phases of development from definition and design through implementation, unit test and deployment.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 10 years of experience (or) a Master's with 8 years of experience
• Development experience with these tools:  JBOSS, Oracle 11g/12c, Structured Query Language (SQL), JavaServer Pages (JSP), RedHat Linux, JavaEE framework, Java and implementation of Web Services, Restful Services, JAX-RS, Ajax, JSON, JDK1.7, JDK1.8, Jackson, XML, and MyBatis /iBatis.
• Technical Lead experience
• Ability to analyze, design, and document system implementation, extension, and follow best practices for design and deployment
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Excellent communications skills – customer facing role – must be able to articulate project updates, progress, milestones, etc.

Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
