Summary

To build lasting client relationships and manage client expectations by implementing all aspects of program development from project initiation through project completion and reconciliation. To orchestrate internal resources in accordance with project specification and timelines. Primary accountability for overall status of on-going projects and client relations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains and grows existing account business. Strategic counterpart to client partner.

  • Identifies and pursues opportunities for business/scope expansion, program renewal, and works with Sales Director(s) to identify opportunities on additional brands within the client(s) the Account Manager is responsible for.

  • Creates and manages project schedules [including timelines, project plans and detailed task lists with responsibilities, deliverables and timeframes] in conjunction with internal team members.

  • Responsible for all aspects of project implementation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with new business development [proposals and budget review], finance [budget development, spec changes and reconciliation], identification and delivery of production partners/components, systems [determination of project requirements and working with technology to ensure testing and implementation of appropriate systems] and administration/fulfillment [status reports, data tracking].

  • Maintains relationship with various providers and creates supporting documentation as required.

  • Able to balance and prioritize multiple on-going programs and client relations. Delegates responsibilities/tasks to Account Coordinators to implement portfolio of business.

 

  • Maintains appropriate documentation tracking project development and changing specifications [status reports; change orders].

  • Able to work with other departments and identify appropriate resources: internal and external as may be required by the demands of the project and priorities of others.

  • Partners with other departments evaluate project SOPs to determine best practices and to streamline efficiencies by implementing updated workflow.

  • Contributes to the development of business unit leadership, organization and culture by participating in regular staff meetings.

  • Demonstrates sound business judgment in managing client expectations and prioritizing workflow.

  • Creates and edits project-specific written communication.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Has “dotted line” oversight responsibility for a pool of Account Coordinators that provide administrative and tactical project support. The subordinate group may be non-exempt and/or exempt, performing a single task or a multiple, but closely related tasks.

Education and/or Experience

BA and 5 years or more of pharmaceutical marketing communications experience required. Proven client-service experience with advertising agency and/or digital communications company strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel)

  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple and varied client relationships

  • Ability to multi-task and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
