SUMMARY

The Warehouse Lead of Hawaiian Ocean Transport, Inc.  is responsible for assisting with high-volume freight movements and plays a critical role in the success of HOT by shipping and receiving, assisting warehouse manager to schedule labor hours for warehouse workers and drivers, planning loads and directing small teams of warehouse workers to execute the unloading, loading, an stowage of containerized freight, and maintain work quality and production. There will also be other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations of warehouse, including: freight handling and transfers.
  • As a working Lead, development of warehouse team to deliver unparalleled customer service is required.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy in daily operations.
  • Must have the ability to effectively time manage to ensure that we are on schedule for shipments and deliveries.
  • Possess the ability to inspect their work area and determine what work needs to be completed.
  • Ensures the quality and expediency of work performed.
  • Assist in planning employees and work schedules.

 

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of two to five years of Warehouse experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge internal and external customer service.
  • Strong problem solving skills required.
  • High-level ability to operate a forklift and pallet-jack.
  • Employee supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer skills; MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.

 

Language Skills:

  • Employee must have the ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Effectively communicate and present information in order to respond to inquiries from management, coworkers, customers and the general public.

 

Reasoning Abilities:

  • Employee must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in a professional fashion.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under high pressure situations.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will be required to:

  • Stand, stoop, walk, and use arms and legs throughout the day.
  • Regularly reach, lift and move up to (75) pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to (50) pounds (20-30) feet.
  • Occasionally, with the aid of a pallet jack, push or pull loads in excess of (2500) pounds the length of the container to locations designated for receiving purposes.
  • Occasionally extend work hours in excess of (2) hours to meet customer and company requirements.
  • Ability to work in weather conditions varying between +34 degrees Fahrenheit to +90 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the course of the year.

  • Continual lifting and moving of parcels from the top of trailer load freight.
